Have you tried 'smart normalisation'? That attempts to avoid transients in between tracks.
Also, I would normalise to 0dB.

Thanks for reporting this. We do know about this problem and will issue an update soon. In the meantime, you can use 'Lookup Track Listing' in the Split Tracks window after creating the album. That should insert track names and splits in the same way as you are used to.

Last post by Roy_Boy_3345 - October 04, 2025, 01:33:53 AMI also opened the two tracks in Audacity to compare the levels. I put that in a Pages doc. I do not think I can paste a screen shot or attach a file to this thread. Let me know if there is a way I can get that info to you if it is helpful.

So I got my re-tipped Soundsmith Paua II cartridge back from Soundsmith and re-ripped Jennifer Warnes - Famous Blue Raincoat. The only difference between the new and old rip are that the RME ADI-2 Pro has newer firmware and VinylStudio version is newer and been upgraded to Pro. I played back one track from both version from my NAS via Lumin A1 keeping the volume control at the same position. The newer rip is about 3db lower than the original. Both were normalized to -1db. I measured this with an iPhone db meter monitoring the first 30 seconds of each track and noting the max dbC. The newer rip was noticeably softer to my ears as well. I am perplexed why they should be so different. Is there anything/setting in the Pro version that might cause this result? Thanks and sorry for being such a pest on this

Technical Support / Problem with Online Album Look...
Last post by DukeBME - October 03, 2025, 02:39:18 AMI ran into a problem when attempting the online album lookup before recording. It seems to work after recording but the benefit of having track names/times and automatically inserted track splits is lost. I've searched the forums but have not found anything like this reported.
I haven't used VS for a while, and in the meantime I have upgraded my MacBook and MacOS. As I worked on refreshing myself of the process to use VS, I found that the album lookup process led to problems and ultimately freezing up.
Here is my configuration:
VS V15.0.2
MacBook Air M4, 13-inch, 24 GB
macOS Tahoe 26.0.1
Here is what happens:
On the Record tab, select "Record or import a new album," then click the Record button.
Enter artist and title.
Click Lookup Album Online button.
Maintain the default selection "Album artist and / or title".
Click Continue.
A matching albums list is returned (Discogs as source).
The Use Selected Listing, Close, and Help (?) buttons are unresponsive.
It is possible to select among the matching albums and see the track information.
The Fetch Album Art button is unresponsive.
No way to dismiss the dialog box.
If I change the artist and title, the Lookup button does not respond.
The Change Database operation to Choose Multiple opens a new dialog but it is virtually unresponsive, including the Cancel and Apply buttons.
At this point, I need to force quit to get out.
Trying different albums does not change the result. Restarting the Mac does not help. I'm not sure what else to try. Any suggestions? Is this an incompatibility with my hardware and/or OS, or possibly a bug?

Last post by bshonbeck - October 02, 2025, 02:35:55 PMCould a "Do not show this again" checkbox be added to the "Are you sure that you want to clear the burn list?" popup? I always want to clear the list when I click the Clear List button so this popup adds no value for me.
BTW, I really appreciate the keyboard editing key layout you have chosen for the Split Tracks page. It is really handy (pardon the pun) to be able to use just the left hand for most of the editing - intuitive and really speeds things up.
