I've recently purchased a NAD pp-3 through which I'm archiving my records  using a laptop running Vista.First shock, I can't adjust the recording levels. After about two weeks of bitter cursing,Wailling and Gnashing of teeth I think I've found a way around this problem. Before "dropping the needle" you click on the recording control button then right click on the microphone icon which brings up the properities tab, click on it and adjust the level from there .you will have to repeat this process for every time you click on the record button, and yes it is a bit of a pain in the arse. So far I think the recordings I've made sound fantastic.I'd just like to know if what i'm doing is worthwhile or wether I'm just fooling myself .
Cheers.

Hi,

Sorry about the delay in replying to this - we missed your message.  You're fooling yourself I'm afraid.  You're better off adjusting the playback level in VinylStudio's Graphic Equaliser after the fact.  For full details, please refer to the following forum topic:

Hello again.  This is just a note to say that we have recently discovered that the recording level slider *does* do something in Vista, although not perhaps what you would expect.  As a result, we have reinstated it in VinylStudio V6.20.  More details here:

To upgrade, selecty 'Check for Update' from VinylStudio's Help menu.
