Title: recording stops
Post by: newby on October 04, 2010, 10:49:42 AM
Hi, can anyone assist?, I am recording all my tapes to harddrive, but twice recently the recording stops halfway through second side, saying the harddrive cannot keep up.  I have 100GB + free and have 2GB of ram. Thanks.

Hi,

If it's only happened twice I think the thing to do is to keep a watching brief.  What the error message means is that something monopolised your PC for more than 10 seconds with the result that VinylStudio wasn't able to write the recorded data to disk before its memory buffer overflows.  It can also happen if the hard disk is slow to respond, although that is rare.

Are you using 'Record both sides as one file'?  Occasionally this can cause problems right at the start of side 2 if the hard disk has powered down while the recording is paused.  You can disable this feature in Control Panel - Power Options.
