Seeking sound card recommendation

I realise this post is slightly off-topic, but I am looking at upgrading my sound card. Is there a consensus as to which card would work best with VinylStudio? And also how crucial is the sound card to getting the best quality file from my vinyl?

I would ask this question at Hydrogen Audio.  There is a large community there who are interested in things like this.  My own view is that even a budget card running at 44 kHz / 16 bit is adequate for vinyl.
