Differing behaviour for track markers

Hi - I think I have seen this discussed earlier or even read about it in new release notes, but asking again because I can't locate the original info.

When I find a matching title and apply it to my recording (to get the track markers defined etc.) I am now seeing two different behaviours.

One is the old behaviour where I get the single end/start marker at the nominated points of each recording. The other is where I get track markers that are a few seconds apart (i.e. the end marker and start marker for each track are no longer at the same point).

You can get a hint at the differing behaviours when you watch the track list as you accept the track lookup choice. Normally it's an immediate return to the main split tracks menu, but when this other behaviour happens, you can see the cursor moving through each track in the underlying window, from top to bottom, before you return the the previous panel.

I am interested in what the software is trying to do here, but the most important thing is understanding why it happens sometimes and not others? I don't believe I am consciously asking for this different behaviour? I am not changing settings between track saves etc. Thanks.

Hi,

If you look in the Lookup Track Listings dialog, you will see there is a box labelled 'Auto adjust track breaks'.

If you check it then VinylStudio will attempt to position the track break markers at breaks in the music.  If you don't, it won't.

Thanks Paul. My issue is that I'm not changing that setting between recordings, it seems to be a random thing. Let me do some more observation to get you better details.
