If you enable Windows 10's Controlled folder access feature, you may find that VinylStudio is unable to make recordings or save your tracks.  To get around this, you need to add VinylStudio to the list of allowed apps in Windows Defender.  To do this, please proceed as follows:

1.  Consult the following link and work through the steps inducated until you get to step 5, 'Allow an app through Controlled folder access':

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-10s-controlled-folder-access-anti-ransomware-feature-is-now-live/

2.  Click on 'Add an allowed app'.

3.  Navigate to the folder where you installed VinylStudio, normally:

        C:
            Program Files (x86)
                VinylStudio

4.  Select VinylStudio.exe in the right-hand pane and then click 'Open'.

5.  If VinylStudio is running, quite and restart it.

That should be all you need to do, but if this doesn't work for you for any reason, then please contact us.
