I'm editing a collection of piano solos, and I ran into a situation where an automatic scan removed a big pop on the left channel but didn't catch it all on the right channel. I was able to take care of it manually, but this got me to thinking: although this was recorded in stereo to add depth, could I somehow dub over a snippet of the left (fixed) channel to the right (unfixed) channel.

A split second of downmixing to mono would be worth it to avoid an uncorrectible problem. Even a split second of dropout might be better in some circumstances.

Is there a way of doing this? I realize that VS isn't aimed at sound production; but am I overlooking some trick that might work?

Not currently, no, but it's with thinking about.  I will add it to the list.

Put it way down the list. The need isn't likely to come up often, unless you're doing 78s.

OK, noted, thank you.  I can see it might have more general application though.
