Title: How to direct VS to my recordings?
Post by: audionote on May 13, 2017, 03:18:30 AM
Hi-
I recently bought a new external hard drive and copied VS recording files to it, but can't figure out how to direct VS to see them. I tried searching support and couldn't find much. From the manual, I did read that the mcf and recording files should be in same folder, so I've done that. I tried directing VS to the files using the Settings dialog box but it didn't work.
Thanks for any help.
Mark

Hi,

What you need to do is to tell VinylStudio to open your collection (i.e. .mcf file).  You do this via Menu -> File -> Open Collection.  If you have put the .mcf file and your recordings in the correct folders (as per the manual) then it should all work.

Please note also that VinylStudio can move or copy albums (with their associated recordings) between collections.  You do this in the 'Save Tracks (and Other Batch Operations)' window, via the 'More' button.
