Title: Invalid MP3 Format
Post by: dtc on May 16, 2015, 03:35:57 PM
I am experimenting using VS to break up recorded Internet Radio broadcasts. I captured this file with JRiver but when I try to import it to VS it says it is an invalid MP3 format, yet Audacity reads it, JRiver plays it and dBpoweramp gives me Audio Information.  Any ideas? It is too large to attach, but I can send it if that helps.

FYI - all the main tags - artist, album, etc. are blank. Is that an issue?

Hi,

No, shouldn't be.  Try saving it in Audacity, perhaps in another format, then see if  will then read it.

I saved it in Audacity in flac and then VS read it fine but I would rather be able to read it in directly, if possible.

I also saved it from Audacity in mp3 format and VS read that correctly.

OK, thanks.  You might be able to get files created in JRiver to work if you experiment with the encoding settings there.

I have it set for VBR normal using LAME. I can try CBR. There is not much else to set.

This is just a trial, so let me play with it and see where I get. Thanks for your help, as always.
