Title: Manual Click Repair
Post by: George on April 02, 2010, 04:59:05 PM
Sirs,

I just bought your program and need help understanding the Manual Click Repair tool.  I have studied your help pages but it is still not clear.

After clicking on the tool the blue box appears over one of the tracks.  I can size the box.   But, when I click on the other track, the box moves.  When I go to another click to repair, the box moves.  How do I repair each separate click?

Thank you.

Hi George,

OK, it works like this.

1.  Zoom in until the background of the waveform display brightens.

2.  Position the cursor directly over the click, making sure that you click in the channel you want to repair (left or right) when you do so.

3.  Insert a manual repair at the cursor, either via the toolbar beneath the waveform display or by pressing R.

4.  Drag the edges of the newly inserted repair to completely eliminate the click.

5.  Repeat from step 2 for the other channel if necessary.

Occasionally, there is already a click repair in roughly the right place.  In thic case, you can omit step 3 (but step 3 is harmless, even so).

If the click is very wide (more of a 'scrunch', probably), you can use the 'Patch' facility instead.  By default, this patches both channels at once.

HTH.
