Registration declined; how to recover?

My attempt to register vinylstudio on a newly built (but quite old junk PC rescued from FreeCycle) are declined with words to the effect of 'too many registration attempts'. I don't know how many is too many but I am quite prepared to 'unregister' VS on my 16 year old laptop, where I have used VS since 2017. But I can't see any option in VS for this. How do I do it?

I also have VS installed in Wine in Linux. This install does not work - should I remove it to decrement the number of installation attempts?
