I'm using my laptop for editing tracks etc, normally a job I'd do on my desktop machine, but I'm away etc. etc. I don't have a problem with the split tracks display when I'm using my large monitor, but on the restricted space of a laptop screen there's very little room for the waveform and an awful lot taken up by the album, tracks and sides lists.
I don't see any way of doing this beyond the range of movement of the section dividers, and they have minimum sizes for the areas they control. It makes placing track boundary markers and fade in/out much, much harder.
It would be really handy to be able to compress the albums & sides entries down to a placeholder single line and to let the waveform expand to take up the space freed by their compression.
My suggestion would be to use the 'Albums' and 'Recorded Sides' icons as buttons. Pressing the button would show/hide the sub-component and the waveform would shrink/grow to fill the available space. Pressing the 'album' icon shows hides the album, track list and button bar that're above the top moveable divider. Pressing the 'Recorded album sides' hides that section.
