VinylStudio doesn't seem to pull down genre information and other basic tags (year, label, etc), only the track titles. Is this by design, or am I doing something wrong?

It does pull down year and label when they are available, but not the genre. It's possible that Discogs offer the genre across their API (the other databases don't). We will investigate.
