When I rip an album using VinylStudio, I am careful to use the Check Level indicator to be certain I'm not clipping before ripping an album. However, some tracks may have loud passages that I missed and I will here it upon my post recording review. In that case, I will see and hear some tracks that are clipped.
I do get confused between what I am seeing on the Split Track (left) and the Cleanup Audio (right) screens. In the attached example, the left image shows clipping while the right image does not. It does, in fact, sound like the audio is clipping and I am about to re-rip the album. Which of the two is correct and why don't both images show clipping?

Don't worry about any clipping you might see in the Split Tracks window. Tat window is an approximation only, optimised for track splitting.
