Title: vinyl studio quit unexpectedly
Post by: t70 on March 13, 2026, 02:25:27 PM
I downloaded vinyl studio and I believed it installed correctly but I got the following messages when I tried to run and register it:

MacOs needs to repair your library to run applications (I clicked on the repair window and said everything was ok) but then I got

VinylStudio quit unexpectedly  and it won't run

I am using a 10 year old mac laptop with an intel processor with the High Sierra OS.

I have had no problems running other apps and this only happened after downloading VinylStudio. Any idea what's going on?  Thanks

Hi,

This is a bug in HS, but there is a workaround.  Please proceed as follows:

1.   Open a Terminal window (Finder -> Menu -> Go -> Utilities -> Terminal)

2.  At the prompt, type pwd and tell me what it reports.

I should then be able to provide a fix.

Hi,

Thanks for this.  Now enter the following command into Terminal (you can use copy and paste) and that should fix the fault:

sudo chown -R tonycocca:staff  ~/Library/Containers/uk.co.AlpineSoft.VinylStudio

Please note that you will be prompted for a password, and that is the password you use when you login to your Mac or install software.  You won't see anything while you type - you just have to get it right.
