Title: Scratches / clicks every 2 seconds
Post by: wallewek on March 11, 2026, 05:37:33 PM
I have an old LP that is in bad shape.  It is getting clicks every 2 seconds over the whole side, obviously a long scratch.  That is far to many to fix manually.  I tried turning off both PP and BB, but no matter how I set the sensitivity it seems to ignore those loud clicks.

What can I do about this?

It would still be a lot work, but are you familiar with the command to jump ahead exactly ONE rotation. It will make finding those clicks  very easy after the first click is identified.

Keystroke ")"
Move forwards by one disc rotation period.

Keystroke ")"
Move backwards by one disc rotation period. Use this when manually repairing scratches that run across the disc. You can change the rotation period for the current album in the Edit Album Details dialog.

obviously I got one of the keystrokes wrong, but I bet you can figure it out.

I also made a discovery for cleaning up noisy records that works really sell, I plan to post that under a separate topic.
