Title: Channel Balance
Post by: JoeK on February 11, 2023, 07:45:04 PM
Hi.  My setup is a Rega 10 turntable with OEM installed MC cartridge feeding a PS Audio NuWave Phono Converter as my A/D converter.

The channel balance as indicated by Vinyl Studio is always showing that the left channel is +2 to +3 dB hotter than the right channel.

Is there anything I can do in Vinyl Studio to compensate for this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed response but no notification came through to me for some reason.

You can fix the channel balance after recording by using the 'Normalise' button in VinylStudio's Graphic Equaliser window.  You can reach this via the 'Adjust filter settings' button in the toolbar beneath the waveform display in the Cleanup Audio window.  Make sure you check the 'Normalise each channel separately' box and VinylStudio will do the rest.

Then save your tracks (or save them again).

No worries Paul and thanks for the response.  I'll give it a go!
